On The Town Limousines, Inc attended the first Bridal Show at The Visitation Academy in Frederick MD on Sunday. This is a secret jewel in Frederick that is just now becoming known about.. The Academy has four acres in the heart of downtown Frederick and can host weddings and events up to 300 people.

How to rent a limousine – sounds like a fairly easy thing right? But for many people they have never rented a limousine before and do not know what information they should have handy before placing the call.

So, before you call have the following basic information at hand:

The kind of service and vehicle that you are interested in.
The date or dates that you will require a vehicle.
The pick-up and drop-off locations.
How many people are going to be in the car.
Your budget if you have one, (most important if this is for wedding transportation).

We recognize that often you are just shopping for a price, but without some of the pertinent information it can be hard to give you a realistic and fair price.

Christmas Party in January!

This last weekend On The Town Limousines held it’s Holiday Party, and yes we do know it is almost February!! Due to the nature of the limousine business it is really hard to hold a party during December – we are too busy taking all of you to your parties!! So we choose a weekend with no football and head off to Baltimore to have a dinner with our entire crew.

This year we once again held our dinner at Ruths Chris Steak House on Water Street. We had a private party in The Opal Room and we would like to extend our thanks to Lenny and Scott for taking such good care of us. As usual the food and service were amazing!

We all had a great time and got to socialize which is something that is hard for us to do. We managed to find a stretch of time where almost all of our Chauffeurs were able to attend, or had enough time in between runs to have dinner. It was a wonderful opportunity for our Chauffeurs to be able to spend time together and for some of our newer Chauffeurs the chance to put names to faces. We also all got the chance to meet each others spouses and friends.

During the course of the evening two of our Chauffeurs, Ben Barry and Jeff Flora, were recognized for their exemplary service to the company and they were each given awards. We hope to be able to add other names to the plaque in the office as the year progresses.

2012 is going to be a great year for On The Town Limousines, and we look forward to continuing to take care of our many existing clients as well as welcoming new ones to our company. We look forward to taking care of you in one of our vehicles very soon – just give us a call 301-829-7999.

Wedding Planning for 2012

Did you just get engaged over the holidays? Well if you did congratulations, this is a fun time for you and of course your families. After the initial joy of the proposal and the receiving of the ring comes the planning for the big day. Where to start? Maybe we can help you with that! First of all take a deep breath and then consider your timeline. Once you have the date, it is pretty important to decide on where you would like to get married. Many venues are booking at least a year in advance.

Depending on where you are getting married, you can determine all the other vendors that you will need. The venue will also to a large extent determine the style of the dress that the bride will wear and also that of the groom and all the attendants. Do you want a traditional ceremony or something outside with a gorgeous natural backdrop? Questions, questions questions!!

One way to help get the ball rolling and to allow you to do some one stop shopping is to attend the bridal shows. We are currently in the midst of the bridal show season, so make sure to listen to the radio for upcoming events, check out the newspapers and of course most of the bridal sites will have links to what is happening and when. You can do the samething for your wedding dress by attending the trunk shows for vendors and you stand the chance of saving some money which may ease your budget in other directions.

We just attended the Bridal Show at Linganore Wine Cellars, and last week we were at Turf Valley. In February, we will be attending shows and tastings at Visitation Academy in Frederick on February 19th. Two tastings at Morningside Inn also on February 19th. Hollow Creek Golf Club on February 26th and Musket Ridge Golf Club on February 28th. Staycations – a great short vacation!

Are you still on a high from the Holidays, or do you need a vacation to get over it all? I know how tiring the Holidays can be, especially for the Moms who take care of so much of the preparation to make sure that everyone has that perfect gift, the house looks amazing and of course all those Holiday treats and meals that have to be made!

How about taking a mini-break – even just one night away from home can make such a difference. We are based in Maryland and there are so many great locations for a night away. We just spent the night in Baltimore, and were away for about 24 hours in total. Priceline can get you a great deal on a four star hotel in the Inner Harbor, which is so conveniently placed for all the local restaurants. Instead of just going to one restaurant take a few hours and go from place to place and sample some food in each one before moving on at your leisure. A walk around the Inner Harbor is a great way to end your evening out. Try driving over to Fells Point for brunch or lunch the next day and again just stroll around and enjoy the atmosphere. We were lucky with the weather for January, but when we got home again we were relaxed and refreshed.

Santa Arrives in an On The Town Limousine!

On Christmas Eve, On The Town Limousines, was very happy to provide the transportation for quite possibly the most important guest of the year..Santa!! He needed a little extra help to make a very special delivery to a family in Walkersville. Together with the other members of The Frederick Area Bridal Network (FABNet for short) two local families were selected to receive some much needed help this Christmas. Our Walkersville family also received their gifts directly from the man in the red suit himself!!

It is always better to give than to receive and the smiles that were everywhere on Christmas Eve were all the thanks anyone needed. Santa was very jolly and ably assisted by Len Joseph, the owner of On The Town Limousines, Matt and Nicole Shew from Shew-sical Entertainment, and Cheri Thompson from the Savory Spoon Catering Company, who also provided our family with a full Christmas dinner “with all the fixins!”

We are pretty sure that Santa had something for everyone from the amount of wrapping paper there was on the floor and it was a day these little children will not forget anytime soon, after all its not everyday Santa actually sits in your living room and arrives in a limo!!
